What Makes the Lusitano Special for the Job

Lusitano Lusitano Special on the Big Screen in Hollywood.

Lusitano-Lusitano SpecialWhat Makes the Lusitano Special for the Job?   Lusitanos have always been bred for their bravery and intelligence.   In the past, only the bravest and smartest Lusitanos were bred to produce even braver animals so they could participate in bullfights and battle honoring their masters and the houses they came from.   These characteristics are a part of them.   They remain and will remain as long as purebred Lusitano continue to be bred selectively and carefully.   Their ability to learn, and their will to learn new things plus their long memories make them the best option for this job.   It is a known fact in the industry that film star Lusitanos are all what they call “bombproof”.   A bombproof horse is one that will jump into a building on fire as fast and as easy as he strolls down a country road during a summer afternoon.

Lusitano-Lusitano SpecialTheir names do not appear in the movie credits.   They are unknown stars.   Those of us who love horses remember them every time we watch a movie and their performance.   We usually call them “the white handsome horse” or the black horse with the spectacular mane and tail” or the “beautiful animal so and so rode in this or that movie”.   It is time we change that. Here are some of the names of these stars and some of the movies where they played stellar parts.   Valmorim, Casquito, Sabio, Toscano, Kitin and Beauty (Choque).   They participated in movies like Lord of the Rings, Robin Hood, Merlin, The Crusader, Warhorse, The Three Musketeers, and Gladiator.   Yes, you guessed right the tan horse ridden by Mel Gibson in Braveheart is a Lusitano also.
