Rhythm / Regularity

Training a horse to have Rhythm / Regularity for dressage.

Lusitano-Rhythm / RegularityRhythm / Regularity requires the horse to always walk, gait, trot or canter with a specific rhythm and movement. It requires that the horse keep an even pace and always steps in the same line and direction no matter the speed at which he is supposed to go. It requires that his hind legs fall exactly in the same spot where its front legs landed when it stepped before. Both front and hind legs on each side must move and set down at the same time too. The sequence of the footfalls must always be the same whether it is going forward, backwards or sideways. Once this is achieved and maintained regularly by the horse, it is time for stage two.
